Wendy Wu releases 2021-22 Japan brochure

Wendy Wu Tours has unveiled a 2021-22 Japan brochure featuring 15 trips in “the most in-demand destination for both 2021 and 2022”.

A range of offers – including no single supplements for solo travellers; business class upgrades with selected airlines and savings up to £500 per person on departures in March and April – have also been made available to stimulate bookings.

Trips include a new three-week tour called Japan by Rail, covering the country’s main islands Kyushu, Honshu and Hokkaido. Prices start from £8,990. Travel is split between the bullet train and the express train.

A new 11-day Experience Japan tour, starting from £5,590, is aimed at first-time visitors to the country.

The trip includes experiences such as a lake cruise near Mount Fuji; a ‘spiritual’ walk through Arashiyama bamboo forest and time with snow monkeys in Nagano city.

Wendy Wu also offers a 17-day Japan Uncovered tour from Osaka to Tokyo. Departures in May include Shibazakura Festival, offering the chance to see Mount Fuji during blossom season.

Selected May and September departures include entrance to a sumo wrestling tournament.

All tours can be booked with a £99 deposit.

Dedicated solo departures are available on every tour. Solo travellers will receive a private room, airport transfers and lounge access. Group sizes are restricted to 18 people.

Extensions and stopovers are available with every trip. These include a five-day Classic South Korea trip, leading in from £1,490, and a three-day Great Wall Hike starting at £590.

John Warr, Wendy Wu global sales director, said: “For the last consecutive four months running, Japan has been the most in-demand destination for both 2021 and 2022.

“With its ‘air bridge’ status and backing of the World Health Organisation, there is a confidence in travel for Japan that is unlike any other destination.

“Japan has seen massive investment in infrastructure, services and accommodation over the last few years, in the run up to the 2021 Olympic Games.

“With this now completed and available to visitors, the next two years are the perfect time to visit and to benefit from these new and impressive facilities.”
